St. Peregrine is the patron saint for persons suffering from cancer, AIDS, or other illnesses - (Saint Peregrine Laziosi)
St. Peregrine was 60 years old when he found himself with an infection in his leg, which needed to be amputated. The night before his operation, Peregrine spent time praying before a fresco fo the crucifixion in the chapter room. He fell into a deep trance-like sleep and saw Jesus descend from the cross to touch his leg. The following day, the docotr arrived to perform the amputation and finding no sign of cancer. Peregrine later died of fever at the age of 80. The lesson of Peregrine's life is not that God worked a miracle, but that a faithful servant placed himself, unconditionally, in the hands of God. Peregrine's trust in God therefore, serves as a model for those dealing with sickness.
Included on the back of each shadow box is the PRAYER for Cancer/Illness
